Eto’o plans to carry on at UCL club

Cameroon star striker Samuel Eto o has vowed to carry on playing at the highest level in the on-going aftermath of Jose Mourinho suggesting the 33-year-old was older than his official age earlier this season.

Eto o, who is set to appear in his fourth World Cup for Cameroon this summer, will become a free agent when his current deal expires on 30 June and he fully intends on continuing his career away from Stamford Bridge.

The Cameroonian ace has moved to play down rumours linking him with a summer move to the Middle East or United States, insisting he wants UEFA Champions League football.

Thanks for informing me that it will be my last World Cup, Eto o said.

Today, I am 33 years old. And it is not because a fool called me an old man that you must believe it.

And you may have noticed that the old man was better than the youngsters.

Some believe I am going to retire in the United States or in the Middle East, but I have regained the joy of the Champions League and I am going to carry on playing in the Champions League. Where? I am not going to tell you.

But I am going to carry on playing because physically and mentally I feel great.

So I am going to go to this World Cup and to the next one when I will be 37.

Some did it at 42, so I can still play in two more World Cups.

Eto o tallied 12 goals and three assists in 38 appearances in all competitions, including 29 starts, for Chelsea in 2013/14.

The impending exit of Eto o and the poor form of club record signing Fernando Torres have led to a significant splash in the summer transfer window.

According to , Chelsea agreed a £32 million deal for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa earlier this week.

West Brom take option on Dorrans

West Bromwich Albion F.C. have taken a year-long option on midfielder Graham Dorrans, as his current contract was set to expire at the end of June.

Dorrans, 27, was relegated to the bench for the majority of the season but managed to start the Baggies last 10 league fixtures of the season.

The Scotland international, who joined Albion from Livingston in 2008, has played in over 150 games for the club.

Meanwhile, Dorrans team-mate Billy Jones is expected to leave The Hawthorns when the transfer window re-opens in the summer, with reports suggesting the 27-year-old is on the verge of agreeing a deal with newly-relegated Fulham.
